Yeast is a fungus that in general resides in the vagina in tiny amounts. Yeast infections or "vaginal candidiasis" in the medical language, is a painful infection caused by yeast called "Candida". Yeast infections generally occur in areas of the body that retain moisture.
A vaginal yeast infection indicates that a multitude of yeast cells are escalating in the vagina. Yeast infections occur often. Bothersome as they may be, normally they are not very serious and a product called Yeastrol, a homeopathic product, works like nothing else on the market today.
What produces a vaginal yeast infection?
A particular type of yeast called Candida Albicans produces the majority of yeast infections. A normal, healthy vagina has numerous bacteria and a tiny number of yeast cells. The most common bacteria present in the vagina, Lactobacillus Acidophilus, help keep other organisms like the yeast controlled.
When something occurs that changes the harmony of these organisms, yeast can escalate and cause problems. Interestingly, ingesting antibiotics sometimes results in disturbing this harmony. The high estrogen levels resulting from pregnancy or hormone replacement therapy can also cause it. As well, health problems, like diabetes or HIV infection.
What are the indications?
Yeast infections have similar symptoms of other infections, and among them STDs. A yeast infection produces itching or pain in the vagina and sometimes causes burning when you urinate or have sex. Some women also have a thick, clumpy, white discharge that has no odor and looks a little like cottage cheese. Symptoms that don't go away should be evaluated by your gynecologist or primary health care provider. These symptoms are more likely to occur during the week before your menstrual period.
Symptoms of Candida in Men (Males): Penile itching feel burning on or after passing urine penis itching after sex rash or redness on the penis or scrotum painful sexual intercourse.
All symptoms usually disappear completely with adequate treatment.
Treatment
Treatment options for a yeast infection include various anti-fungal vaginal medicines that are available to treat yeast infections. Easy to administer herbal treatments are also available for the remedying of the wide array of yeast infections. Many people now benefit from using such products that don’t produce side effects and can safely be utilized in conjunction with other treatments.
Call your health care provider if symptoms don't go away after using self-treatment vaginal creams, or if you have or develop other symptoms. If you have never been diagnosed or treated by a physician for a yeast infection and have some of the symptoms, you should see your physician first for accurate diagnosis and treatment.
